Luftwaffe ground assault badge cased – Gebrüder Wegerhoff, Lüdenscheid. Mid to late war two piece zinc ‘Erdkampfabzeichen’ with GWL makers mark and silver plated finish. Remains in unworn condition with full finish remaining and typical zinc bubbling on the surface. Comes with very rare unmarked GWL case that can also sometimes be found marked with the gold text Erdkampfabz. Case remains in good condition with normal wear on the outside, both hinge intact and separation on the blue paper hinge flap on the inside. Very difficult to find set with minty GWL LW GAB.
GWL was the only maker to have a case for the LW GAB.
