Infantry assault badge in ‘black’ – Josef Felix & Söhne, Gablonz. Solid zinc badge with typical Gablonz style crimping of the catch and hinge. The badge is marked with the JFS logo as is always the case with these JFS. The badge is factory vaulted giving it a nice 3D Appearance. The finish has a fully dark black appearance and remains in worn condition. Very rarely a badge takes this full black appearance. Very interesting and unique look tot his IAB. Catch is slightly bend inwards stopping the pin from opening.
given the black appearance there is no telling what grade this is, but normally occurs with silver finished badges.
