German cross in gold – Otto Klein, Hanau. Mid to late war light weight cupal black plate version of the ‘Deutsches Kreuz in Gold’. Remains in unworn with all black finish on the sunburst wreath. The white round backing of the swastika retained the bright appearance nicely and shows nearly no patina.
The black wreath shows the typical Zimmermann flaw at 11 o’clock which is present on most Light weight Zimmermann and Klein crosses. Top cross in excellent unworn condition with maker mark 134 on the back made from Zimmermann produced parts.
