General assault badge – Assmann & Söhne, Lüdenscheid. Semi  hollow zinc badge with nickel-silver setup and sloppy soldered catch, typical for Assmann assault badges to have lots of solder near the catch. Even though these Assmann pieces are semi hollow they still have a lot of weight to them compared to other semi hollow GAB. These are always marked on the back with the Assmann logo and it also clearly present here. The badge is in worn condition and the silver finish has faded giving the zink its greyish look, which is the case for most of these GAB and IAB from Assmann. The loss of detail on the acorns is typical for the heavily worn die used to produce these. No damage or repairs.
