German cross in gold cased – C.F. Zimmermann, Pforzheim. (PzJ. Abt. 211 – 18.03-45). Late war cupal back plate DKIG with typical Zimmermann flaw in the upper wreath and 20 makers mark under the pin. More uncommon example with dotted date. Remains in mint condition with nearly no patina and a still perfectly preserved white roundel behind the enamel swastika. This example never left its original case, with the case remaining in equally pristine near mint condition. This example was awarded to Herbert Pfeiffer of Panzerjäger Abteilung 211 as part of Feldherrnhalle on the 18.03.45, shortly after operation “Frühlingserwachen”. Sadly we were not able to acquire all the paperwork that was also present.
