WB silver + package – marked L/18

Wounded badge in silver + packing – B.H. Mayer Pforzheim L/18 marked. Zink construction with late war crimped in setup. This type of crimping is typical for Vienna makers, never the less these pieces come marked with the Mayer logo. Mayer is known for buying badges from other makers and reselling them. The theory on these state that these badges were bought by Mayer from a Vienna maker and got re stamped L/18 for sales. The Wien 40 mark is often found with the marked 30 Wounded badges.
Both(?) the badge and the packing seem to have the wearers initials W.H added. The text on the package is a bit vague..Uncommon WB in nicely worn condition + A Vienna maker package, no damage or repairs.
