Award document for the wound badge in black to Zugw.d.Schzp. Karl Aigner of the 3./Pol.Rgt.33-1.Btl. At this time the first Battalion was attached to the 10th ss polizei-regiment. Just before the unit was pulled back Karl got wounded on 15.03-44, after this unit was deployed in the front lines. Polizei-Regiment 33 (Polizei-Regiment ‘Ostland’) took part in many operations that involved the killing of jewish civilians on eastern Europe. This unit was made up of many eastern volunteers.
