U-boat clasp in silver second pattern – Schwerin

U-boat clasp in silver second pattern – Schwerin & Söhne, Berlin. Solid zinc second pattern ‘U-boot spange’ designed by Peekhaus and only produced by the maker Schwerin for U-boat personal. The badge has its typical crimped in catch and integral hinge system. The silver plated finish shows typical zinc bubbling and is often encountered on these clasp, but its also possible to find these with a silver wash type finish. The clasp shows some sings of moderate wear and has held its finish very well, its almost fully present. Quite difficult to find and sought after ‘Kriegsmarine’ badge. No damage or repairs on this good looking clasp. One of the rarer KM badges out there.
