The Führer awarded SS-Obergruppenführer and General of the Waffen-SS Sepp Dietrich, commander of the SS Panzer Division “Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler”, the Oak Leaves with Swords to the Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross, as the 26th soldier of the German Wehrmacht to receive this distinction.
