Small group to Gerhard Wegner U-197 – KIA Indian ocean

Small group to Gerhard Wegner U-197 – KIA Indian ocean. Very interesting set that was displayed in a frame and was taken out at some point. Present are Wegner his U-boat badge award certificate and two of his “Tellermütze” bands, one being the more uncommon “Unterseebootschule” example. Both examples are cut after the text and are not full length. Wegner was on U-197 under captain Robert Bartels and got sunken by the British airforce killing all 67 crew members.
