Luftwaffe observer badge + case – Assmann & Söhne

Luftwaffe Beobachterabzeichen + case – Assmann & Söhne, Lüdenscheid. Early war tombac observer badge with riveted eagle and directly soldered catch and hinge. The rivits are tight and remain untouched which is not always the case with the rather thick Assmann rivets. The badge appears to be slightly worn, but is in near perfect condition with the frosting having a good silver/white appearance. The badge is marked on the back of the eagle with the Assmann logo and has a good factory vaulted appearance
It comes with matching blue case known to be used for this type and other Assmann Luftwaffe awards. The case remains in very good condition with only minor signs of wear to the outside. On top the case has some black stains, but the case description has not been affected. The inside of the case is in near perfect condition with the the blue backing and purple felt inlay not exposed to long sunlight. In other words the colors have not faded due to exposure and the badge has been with this box for a long time.
Assmann Observer in top condition, hard to upgrade the badge itself.
