Kriegsmarine U-Boat badge – Petz & Lorenz, Unterreichenbach. Very uncommon early war tombac construction ‘U-Boot Abzeichen’ with Petz Lorenz design and setup. Remains in excellent lightly worn condition with most of the gilding still showing on the front. P&L was one of the very few makers to first silver plate the tombac before applying the gilding, this gold color silver look makes it so these badges often develop a good dark patina. Difficult to find U-boat!
