Kriegsmarine Officer summer cap

Kriegsmarine Officer summer cap for high ranking staff officer, “Stabsoffizier”. Very well made cap with detachable woven summer cover part. Shows gold bullion woven cockade insignia, tombac gilded eagle and gold bullion oak leaves around the visor. Shows normal wear on the inside with some typical sweat stains and a still nicely intact sweatband. The outside shows very minimal wear and remains in excellent condition. Two initial buttons seem to have been on the inside of the sweatband. Chin straps shows some age to it but remains nicely intact and is in matching condition to the rest of the cap. Very uncommon cap for higher ranking officer within the Kriegsmarine.
