Knights cross with oak leaves holder portrait set – Martin Steglich. Amazing small group of 4 portrait with “Ritterkreuzträger” Steglich wearing his German cross in gold and knight’s cross in addition to his nicely worn other awards. The small portraits show two side angels and the Postcard size portrait shows him wearing the Honor roll clasp as well. All portraits are in good condition and album removed.
Steglich was commander of Grenadier-Regiment 1221 and fought in the Venlo area, later he pulled back into the Ruhr area where he fought in Reichswald and Hochwald near Xanten, for his decisive actions here he was awarded the oaks. He later surrendered to US forces.
