German cross in gold – C.F. Zimmermann, Pforzheim. Mid to late war cupal back plate light weight ‘Deutsches Kreuz in Gold’. Remains in excellent condition with light wear to the wreath with nearly all the gilding remaining. The outer sunburst wreath shows light wear on the higher area`s and has the typical 11 O’clock flaw. The white backing of the swastika shows a very minimal patina and retained the bright finish nicely. Still shows excellent silver finish remaining on the reverse with minimal patina and is marked 20 under the pin.
