German cross in gold – C.F. Zimmermann, Pforzheim. Mid to late war light weight cupal black plate version of the ‘Deutsches Kreuz in Gold’. Remains in unworn with all black finish on the sunburst wreath. A couple very faint marks on the swastika but not easily noticeable. The white round backing of the swastika retained the bright appearance nicely and shows a slight patina on few spots.
The black wreath shows the typical Zimmermann flaw at 11 o’clock which is present on most Light weight Zimmermann and Klein crosses. Top cross.
