German cross in gold – C.F. Zimmermann, Pforzheim

German cross in gold – C.F. Zimmermann, Pforzheim. Mid to late war light weight cupal black plate version of the ‘Deutsches Kreuz in Gold’. Remains in lightly worn condition and shows some where on the out wreath exposing the base tombac material. A couple very faint marks on the swastika but not easily noticeable. The white round backing of the swastika retained the bright appearance nicely and shows a slight patina.
The black wreath shows the typical Zimmermann flaw at 11 o’clock which is present on most Light weight Zimmermann and Klein crosses. Top cross with some proper wear to it.
