Ek2 and Wound badge in black document Polizei regiment 10
Award document set consisting of an ek2 and black wound badge document to Oberwachtmeister der Schutzpolizei Walter Hirsch. The Ek2 document remains in used condition and was vaulted once horizontally and has cracks along the edges. Awarded on Hitlers birthday 20.04.1942 and was signed by Knights cross holder Generalleutnant Max Pfeffer of the 297 inf Div. Pfeffer was captured at Stalingrad in 1943, he died in russian captivity as a Soviet Prisoner-of-War in Camp Wolkowo 1955.
Walter Hirsch was most likely attached to Polizei-Battalion 314 that was part of the 3th Bat. Polizei regiment 10 later on, also know as polizei regiment Süd. This unit has been linked to numerous war crimes, fought partisans and was later deployed on the front lines in the Ukraine. Notably assisting the 1st SS brigade with the shooting of jewish civilians in the Ukraine.
The wound badge document has some dented corners but remains in good condition. Feldpost number 37049.
