Compelete estate from SS Luftwaffe transfer Hermann Stein (KIA Italy)
Compelete estate from SS Luftwaffe transfer Hermann Stein (KIA). Large estate with a couple 100 pages of correspondence with from father and son to different branches and institution during the war.
Hermann was with the Hitler youth before the war and went to agriculture school after finishing his high school. His father Ernst did a lot of the correspondence for him with the Reichsnährstand(RNST). After finishing his Agriculture school Hermann would become a Luftwaffe cadet, as requested before starting his study. However things changed and he was involuntarily drafted for the Waffen SS. After sighing of on what was supposed to be a check up list he was drafted for the SS and send to training school. Durin his time at training school he wrote a letter requesting help from his Father(a friend smuggled it out as stated in the letter).Ernst, tried to transfer his son back into the Luftwaffe, but was met with very negative correspondence from the Kreisleiter(county leader) and had to try with other institutions. Most of this is written with the type writer and there is extensive letters.
Ernst succeeds in transferring his son to the LW and Hermann becomes an observing officer candidate with the 7./Flakregiment 26. The set includes a couple booklets and letters from the Luftwaffe officer training. Hermann was deployed in Italy and eventually got killed in action while with his flak crew. The Luftwaffe ground assault badge (Erdkampfabzeichen) and Ek2 were posthumously awarded as written in one of the letters to the family. There is some volksbund booklets, pictures and information about his grave in Italy.
The set consists of:
1.Erdkampfabzeichen award document
2. Ek2 award document
3. Wehrpass Ernst Stein(Father) almost no entries
4. Arbeitsbuch Hermann(Son)
5. Two portraits both LW and SS in perfect condition.
6. drivers license (with all the paperwork to it)
7. Lots of NSLB and RNST document and letters about the schooling, about one full map.
8. Volksbund set with flyers, booklets, information sheet about the grave and pictures from the gave in Italy
9. 20-30 letters of Feldpost, including 2 from luftministerie and Erganzungsambt der Waffen S.S. Erganzungstelle Dordmund
10. Letters with the local party leader, these are not to friendly and the Kreisleiter is bothered by the teachers attitude(even pre war) and him and his son not accepting that everyone needs to do their duty. He ends ups threatening him to be send of for help at the West Wall, from another document it becomes clear he was indeed put to service as oversight.
Lots of information and a great set for research. Untouched and as acquired!
