Close combat clasp in gold – Funke & Brüninghaus, Lüdenscheid

Close combat clasp in gold – Funke & Brüninghaus, Lüdenscheid. Mid to late war zinc ‘Nahkampfspange’ with gilded finish. Remains in unworn condition and shows most of the gilding faded on the zinc base construction. A few specs remain in the lower part and on the edges, the setup still shows the bright gold finish nicely as does some of the soldering next to the hinge.
Maker marked F&BL above the catch and only rarely found as a gold grade. Nearly always found in dis condition with the fragile gold finish faded.
