Army paratrooper badge – Friedrich Linden, Lüdenscheid. Mid war zinc ‘Heeres Fallschirmschützenabzeichen’ intended to be worn by army or SS paratroopers, often attached to the Brandenburg unit. This earlier zinc version shows the high quality burn lacquer gilding in nearly perfect condition and has the rarely encountered block hinge. The eagles silver finish patinated into a greyish appearance, leaving a good contrast with the still beautiful wreath. Stunning example of a rare FLL Heer para variant that would be hard to upgrade!
