Converted black wound badge “Chaplain’s” variant

Converted black wound badge “Chaplain’s” variant. The black 81 Werner Redo wound badges were converted to hold the cross in a monastery in southern Germany to raise some money. After a box was found the monks converted these by hand to fit the Christian cross and sold them off. Only very few of these were made and are rated as a highly collectible variant that comes with a silver looking and black looking cross. Remains in very good condition with all the finish nicely intact.
Sometimes referred to as the Pilgrims or Champlain wound badge.
